Where better to sell bicycles and surfboards than on the best mainland beach in the region?
The Wales Family Athletics Depot is an old and respected name in New Hearth, and has recently been given even more prestige: last year the youngest son, Marcus, a runner-up in the Pokemon League Championship the year before, succesfully completed the Gym Leader qualification tests after the old New Hearth leader resigned, becoming the current Paradise Badge Gym Leader.
The shop is a sandy affair, out on the boardwalk, and not that large but still plenty profitable. Running shoes, pedometers, and other athletic miscellania are available, as are two particularly important items for people who don't have Pokemon to take them around. Or, y'know, a car.
Those being the Surfboard and the Bicycle. The Surfboard isn't really good for travelling the seas at large, but it lets you ride the waves in style, and keeps you afloat besides. They sell Trainer-specific models with 6 slots for Pokeballs in the middle, so you can even keep your team with you easier. They're not the cheapest ever, but not a particularly pricey item anyway, £200 per.
The Bicycle is just a typical athletic bicycle with 6 gears. It's assumed you'll be wearing your Pokebelt while riding, so no modifications have been made to accomodate Pokeballs. It's a good bit cheaper than a surfboard, at £70. Of course, a lot of trainers still prefer to walk - there's the issue of where you put a bicycle when you aren't riding it. I mean, you can't just stuff it in your backpack, can you?
