Set on its own mass of land, with only an island chain to an uninhabited landmass to the south for physical connections, the region of Slate is nonetheless a place of endless activity. Fed through its port and airport with a constant stream of people from other locations, it is, for many, a new frontier - a new gym circuit, a new set of locations and a hundred new stories waiting to unravel. Within the misty mountaintops and deep under the earth, great things wait to reach the light. Fame is there, for anyone willing to reach out and take it. Maybe, just maybe, that fame could be... yours.
Slate Region is currently open for RP, though not all the areas have been filled in thus far, so travel might be a little bit limited as of present. However, with new locations opening up every day and work constantly being put in to make the region everything it could be, you're sure to find something to suit you within.

New Hearth City (4 sub-boards) The doorway to the rest of the Slate region, literally and figuratively. New Hearth is the penultimate port of the region, located in the maw of the "crab" that is Slate, and it shows. As the second-largest city on the map, New Hearth is a youthful, energetic town, noteworthy for its cleanliness and general appeal, as much as its beachfront property. Connects to Route 208, Route 218, Route 225 and Route 226.
Route 208 The typical first steps of a Trainer into the region of Slate fall on either Route 208 or Route 225, more commonly the former than the latter. The Route takes Trainers along the elevated freeway that runs to King's Crown, though trainers tend to walk in the shadow of the freeway more often than actually travelling by vehicle from place to place. Normal, flying and grass Pokemon are in abundance here, and are generally weak enough to be early additions to a Trainer's team. Connects to the South-Eastern Circuit via Route 209 and Route 211, and to the North-Eastern Circuit via Route 229.
Route 218 The wide blue sea! Route 218 is all cerulean, sparkling oceans and scenic cruises. The water south of New Hearth Port is filled with trainers swimming, riding their Surfing Pokemon, and with the bobbing lures of shore-bound trainers, as well as a plethora of boats. As expected, it's very easy to find relatively weak Water Pokemon along Route 218. Ferries are willing to take Trainers South to [city], but in order to take the ferry along Route 219, you'll need to have all the Badges from the Southern Circuit, or be able to Surf. Connects to the South-Western Circuit via [city], and the North-Western circuit via Route 219.
Route 225 The second, and slightly less common proving ground for new Trainers is the winding Route 225, which takes you around the peaks of the Bouldercrag Mountains, a less-than-hospitable mountain range, as the name suggests. The path is rocky at times, and for the first leg leads through scrub-land which is perfect for finding Flying, Rock and Ground type Pokemon. The second leg, however, takes you through a thick, ancient forest that dominates the northern coast, which is filled with Bug, Grass and Psychic pokemon of a bit higher strength. Connects to the North-Western Circuit via Firebug City.
Route 226 Typically, Route 226 is a "return" route, a triumphant homecoming for those who have succesfully completed the League Gym challenge and collected all 8 badges. However, there are the occasional starting Trainers who decide to brave the stronger Pokemon of the route and head towards the inland sea and the North-Eastern Circuit at large. Connects to the North-Eastern Circuit via [location].
Greenrook Town A small, sheltered town sitting in the Juri mountain range, Greenrook is know mostly for being impressively scenic, as well as for the old castle constructed up on the mountain overlooking it. In fact, the town was named in part for the green livery the knights of that particular castle wore, back in the days of old. With a hot-spring under construction and a calm, easy-going nature, Greenrook is one of the more relaxing, enjoyable stops along a trainer's journey. Connects to Route 209 and Route 210.
King's Crown City The seat of the Pokemon League, the lair of the Elite Four, and the crown jewel of the Pokemon Training profession in Slate in general, King's Crown is the largest city in Slate, built around entertainment and tourism. It plays host to a constant influx of people looking to watch the bi-monthly Pokemon League tournaments, and the subsequent Elite Four battles, sitting with bated breath as their Trainer favorites battle each other and eventually, the greatest trainers Slate has ever seen. Interestingly enough, King's Crown has no Gym of its own. Connected to Route 211 and Route 212.
Route 214 A short dirt road leading north from Mabellis Town leads to the tip of the peninsula, where the Mabellis Lighthouse stands atop a high cliff, lighting the way for the ferry that travels Route 215. This is one of the best spots for catching sea-dwelling Birds in the region, equal to the lighthouse on the north-western end of the continent. Rock Pokemon also tend to enjoy the cliffs. And that's disregarding the Pokemon living in the lighthouse itself...

Routes 215 and 216 Including the ferry route running from Mabellis Town and the overland road that leads across the island to Amberie City, this particular path runs by the Ashroot Shipyards. The sea-faring portion is as gorgeous as the oceans are anywhere in Slate, but the journey across land is significantly more somber - burnt-out husks of once-living trees flank the road for the entire trip.
Route 217 Running between [city] and the small island just off-shore across a straight, no one is exactly certain why the trip is so significant as to deserve a Route designation. Still, the fishermen claim they've made some of their best catches on these shores and in the nearby water, and trainers have reported similar success in catching water Pokemon, so perhaps that's the reason? Connected to [city].
Routes 220 and 221 A paved road leading from Prosta City out along the south coast of the island, Route 220 leads out to the last of the ferry routes, Route 221, crossing over to a dock on Route 223. It also passes by the illustrious Battle Frontier, a favorite haunt of Trainers who have completed their Gym circuit.
Routes 228 and 229 (1 sub-board) Passing by the third of the large mainland mountain ranges, Routes 228 and 229 are part of a smaller gravel road that passes under the 208 Freeway, leading north to [city] and south to Greenrook Town, nestled in the Juri Mountains. Routes 228 and 229 are best know for passing straight by the front doors of the Regine Temple, an archaelogical find dating back some 50 years that is still under research.
