The League Free Stadium - premier entertainment for the citizens, excessive amounts of cash for the city government, and a great place for registered Trainers to get some battle experience, or to try out new techniques. The League Free Stadium is exactly what it sounds like - a ladder-free Pokemon battle stadium, which plays host to thousands of battles every day in hundreds of isolated battle environments, brought to spectators on screens tuned to each environment.
The League Free Stadium hosts Sanctioned battles between PC Trainers, or between a PC and NPC trainer, at the discretion of the involved party(s). If you want to fight an NPC, say so - a GM will put together a decent challenge for you to square off against. This is a handy way to level up Pokemon, while carrying the excitement of performing for a crowd. Go for broke!
There are a few different formats for battles at the Stadium, each available for Single, Double or Multi-battles. Multi-battles can only occur between PC Trainers and will have minimal mod oversight, for the most part.
3 Pokemon Standard - Trainers each pick three of their team of six and battle until one side surrenders or runs out of Pokemon.
3 Pokemon Sudden Death - Three Pokemon for each trainer, and the first trainer to have one of their Pokemon faint loses.
Sudden Death - One (or two, in the case of Doubles matches) are chosen, and the first Pokemon to faint (even in Doubles matches) loses.
6 Pokemon Standard - Each Trainer brings their full team to the table, and battles until one side surrenders or runs out of Pokemon. This may take a while to resolve, so be warned.
6 Pokemon Sudden Death - Each Trainer brings their full team to the arena, but the first team to lose a Pokemon loses the match. Tactical switch-outs become key.
Mention in your post which format(s) you want your battle to be, and a mod will construct a battle to your specifications.
