From the peaks of the Bouldercrags to the depths of the Regine Inland Sea, on the wings of Fearow and in Geodude-infested tunnels, the region of Slate has become a host to new and experienced trainers alike. With a reputation for the diversity of its Pokemon (every species not classified ultra-rare has been located at some point in Slate), the region is a new hot travel destination for not just trainers, but coordinators, researchers, former champions, Team members and nearly anything in between you can imagine.
With its own League, headed by the respected researcher Professor Ironwood, and a complete contest circuit, the Region has something to appeal to nearly everyone. As well, like any place in the Pokemon world, there are a host of secrets buried in the strange locales and the depths of the earth that dot the landscape. Is there any significance to the old folk tales people tell about the history of the land? What is Heaven's Peak? With mystery, intrigue and challenge abounding, there's plenty of fame to go around. Will you seize your share?
Featuring:[ul] [li]A full region, complete with a game-style map. While not all areas have been written up, when all the details have been decided upon we will have a full 31 routes, over ten separate cities (with the standard 8 gyms) and a host of sites along the routes to stop and visit.
[/li][li]Staff-lead plots. The Staff is able to, and encouraged to run overall plots for the players to take part in, both on their own initiative and through player-acceptable Contracts. As activity increases, there should be many ways to get involved with the world at large, beyond simply travelling from town to town and collecting your badges/ribbons.
[/li][li]A well-fleshed-out system for battles, trainers and Pokemon, complete with a dice roller. If you enjoy Pokemon RP, but wish there was potential for more competition, look no further. Slate uses a simplified d20 system in order to run battles, allowing for those with a more competitive streak to fight to win -- without hurting other players' fun!
[/li][li] The ability to use all Pokemon currently available in the game, along with access to breeding and Move Tutors, eventually, allowing you to train Pokemon exactly the way you want them. In addition, Pokemon can have a total of 7 combat moves and seven HM moves, meaning you can teach a Pokemon Surf without taking up a valuable move slot if you don't want to.
[/li][li]Once we get enough users, there will be a bi-monthly Pokemon League battle tournament, with the winner earning the privilege of fighting Slate's toughest of the tough: the Elite Four. Included in that tournament will be Player on Player battles, perhaps eventually involving no one but the players.[/li][/ul]
Slate is also currently hiring staff, including GMods and RPMods. Staff will not be prohibited from playing themselves, and as an added bonus will be able to take part in finishing the world - anything from deciding the characteristics of a Route to creating one of the 7 remaining Gym Leaders. Please check us out if you are interested.
