As you head north out of the city, the pavement begins to fade to the rural road, cracked and rough in places. By the time the city has faded enough to decide you're truly out in the country, you're standing on a rock-strewn dirt road, wide enough for two vehicles to pass with room to breathe. Nicknamed Victory Road after the cave leading to the Indigo League Stadium in Johto/Kanto, this is the path victorious trainers tend to follow, having finished off the Northern Circuits.
Triumphant trainers dot the path, walking with pride and full Pokebelts, bearing the marks of their succeses and failures on their vests as they head back through New Hearth on their way, usually, to King's Crown to take part in the bi-monthly PLSA League Tournament, the second most illustrious event in the league after the Slate League Championship that occurs once a year.
Rock pokemon and ground pokemon hide in the grass here, battling for territory with grass pokemon and normal pokemon, as well as the occasional Flaafy. A host of birds flies in the sky, and in the ponds beside the path water pokemon gather. Route 226 is one of the more diverse routes for Pokemon in the Region - they are drawn to the strength of the trainers that walk it instinctively.
Naturally, new Trainers heading north face the risks of walking the path of Champions. It's a dangerous and trying path to travel, but those that win out and continue North towards the inland Regine Sea tend to be cut from tougher stuff than your average trainer.
